1 dead after 3 vehicles hit pedestrian on I-26

One person died as the result of a being stuck by three vehicles, Sunday night.

The fatal collision occurred around 9:42 p.m. on I-26 Westbound at the 119 Milemarker in Lexington County, according to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Investigation of the collision caused a detour.

A Florida man in a 2014 Ford hit a pedestrian standing in the road, was killed. The pedestrian was also hit by a 2006 Toyota driven by a Lexington woman and the pedestrian was struck by a 2012 Mazda driven by a Woodruff man, said Jones.

The driver of the Ford, and a passenger in the Ford, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
