Lexington One Schools will switch to eLearning on Friday
| Lexington One will switch to eLearning on Friday, September 27, due to weather impacts from Hurricane Helene. All of Friday’s extracurricular activities, including those that require travel, will be suspended on Friday, September 27, until 3 p.m. There are no changes to today’s school schedule. The big picture: The National Weather Service is predicting Hurricane Helene to bring severe weather to our area overnight and into the morning of Sept. 27. The S.C. Department of Education transportation officials recommend limiting school bus operations during sustained winds of 30 MPH or greater or wind gusts greater than 40 MPH. In a briefing published Thursday morning, NWS officials shared models that consistently predict strong wind gusts in our area. Also, conditions may be favorable overnight and into the morning for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes to develop. |
